Job Description
Summary:
We’re seeking a Technical Business Analyst to join one of our financial services clients in the Market Risk technology team focused on hands-on analysis and system-level problem solving. This role sits firmly on the technical side of the house—not project management or KYC/compliance operations—and is ideal for someone who enjoys deep investigative work with data, databases, and risk systems. You’ll partner closely with risk managers and developers to translate business and regulatory needs into clear technical requirements, acceptance criteria, and release documentation while supporting testing, demos, and release cycles.
The team supports Market Risk reporting and analytics across multiple asset classes (equities, credit, rates, commodities, mortgages), working on tools used by risk managers and regulatory-facing reporting. You’ll leverage advanced Excel, SQL, and a working knowledge of Python to analyze market risk data, improve workflows, and enhance dashboards and analytics. This role offers strong exposure to Market Risk, VAR and stress-related initiatives, and an environment where curiosity, strong work ethic, and the ability to bridge business and technology are critical to success.
Key Responsibilities

· Perform deep, hands-on analysis of systems, data, and workflows
· Gather and document requirements; write Business Requirements Documents (BRDs) and Functional Requirements Documents (FRDs)
· Define and document acceptance criteria, release notes, and “what are we releasing” summaries

· Attend scrum/agile ceremonies and collaborate with developers on active initiatives
· Investigate data issues, analyze system behavior, and support enhanced workflows (may include light production support–type investigations)
· Work on tools and platforms used by Market Risk managers, including risk reporting and analytics
· Support initiatives that are regulatory-facing, ensuring accuracy, traceability, and completeness of data and reporting
Build and maintain Excel- and PowerPoint-based artifacts for analysis, reporting, and presentations
