Job Description
Insight Global is working with Rutgers UBHC to hire a Habilitation Counselor to support adult males in a 24-hour supervised residential program in Camden County (group home/apartment setting in Collingswood, NJ). This individual will provide direct, face-to-face care for residents transitioning from long-term state psychiatric and institutional settings, supporting high-acuity populations with severe and persistent mental illness, co-occurring substance use, and forensic histories. Day-to-day responsibilities include managing an active caseload while delivering supportive counseling, crisis intervention, and psychoeducation, as well as assisting residents with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as hygiene, room upkeep, meal preparation, grocery shopping, and medication routines through hands-on modeling and guidance. The counselor will coordinate and transport residents to appointments, collaborate with social services and treatment providers, and support community reintegration efforts. They will also help manage challenges such as incontinence, suicidality, and behavioral stabilization, while documenting all treatment plans, progress notes, and attendance accurately and on time. This role partners closely with a multidisciplinary team in a fast-paced environment, requiring strong clinical judgment, adaptability, and a willingness to be highly involved in residents’ day-to-day routines and recovery progress

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Mental Health, Human Services, or related field
• 1+ year of experience in a residential
• Experience with direct care, case management, and crisis intervention
Valid Driver’s License
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with co-occurring disorders (mental health + substance use)
Experience working in residential behavioral health or supportive housing
