Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Voice Engineer for our client's Global Network Services (GNS) Delivery team. This is a hands-on, Cisco Voice focused role for a strong telecom professional who can operate independently in a matrixed environment, take direction, plan, execute, and run global voice upgrades on their own. You will own the lifecycle of our Cisco voice and SIP platforms, drive the modernization of aging telecom equipment, and bring order to telecom vendor administration. This is a senior level role for someone who has spent their career in the voice industry and can be pointed at a goal and deliver.

Key Responsibilities:
• Cisco Voice & SIP delivery: Plan, configure, and maintain Cisco voice platforms (CUCM/Call Manager, Cisco IP phones, and SIP technology), keeping global voice services reliable and current.
• Global equipment modernization: Lead the upgrade and replacement of aging telecom/voice equipment across sites, including on-site hardware replacement where remote execution isn't possible.
• Self-directed execution: Own initiatives end to end in a matrixed environment by taking direction, planning and running it independently.
• Telecom vendor & invoicing management: Work through telecom vendor invoicing challenges, set and enforce expectations on invoicing, and clean up the administrative side to bring accuracy and control.
• Cisco DNA / Catalyst Center: Operate and support Cisco DNA (Catalyst Center) as part of the network/voice platform (can be ramped up on the job).
• Troubleshooting & continuity: Diagnose and resolve voice/network issues, monitor platform health, and initiate swift recovery actions to maintain business continuity, including on-call rotation.
• Documentation & collaboration: Maintain configuration records and site documentation and coordinate with project managers, business leads, operations, and technology vendors.

We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of hands-on Cisco Voice experience, including Cisco IP phones and SIP technology.
• Extensive telecom background with a career grounded in the voice world — deep familiarity with the industry and its terminology/lingo.
• Legacy voice/PBX heritage — professionals who came up through AT&T into environments such as Avaya/VIA or Nortel, and who understand legacy PBX vs. Cisco (this is a Cisco shop; no programming into legacy voice PBX).
• Familiarity with AT&T / Lucent call manager environments and telecom carrier services.
• Proven ability to work independently and drive execution in a matrixed organization.
• Available for up to 25% US travel and a 24x7 weekly on-call rotation.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Cisco DNA / Catalyst Center experience
• Experience with broader infrastructure including Cisco switching, Palo Alto firewalls, BlueCat DNS, F5 load balancing, Zscaler, cloud network architecture.
• Experience deploying phone/voice projects and voice traffic design across a global footprint.
• Strong technical writing and documentation skills (Visio site diagrams, ServiceNow CMDB).
• Scripting/automation and infrastructure-as-code exposure.
• Certifications: Cisco CCNA/CCNP or Cisco Collaboration/voice certifications.
