Job Description

An employer is seeking a Senior Buyer to join our Purchasing team. This role is responsible for procuring medical supplies and equipment while balancing quality, cost, and availability. The Buyer will work closely with clinical teams, suppliers, and internal partners to support patient care and operational efficiency.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is detail-oriented, analytical, and comfortable working in a fast-paced, regulated environment.

Purchase medical equipment and supplies, including creating purchase orders and reviewing order confirmations

Monitor and forecast inventory levels using ERP systems to ensure appropriate stock and minimize waste

Develop and maintain product knowledge to serve as a product expert and internal resource

Support cost-containment initiatives through group purchasing contracts and product standardization

Identify opportunities for process improvement and inventory optimization

Solicit and analyze price quotes and bids from suppliers

Build and maintain strong relationships with new and existing suppliers

Partner with clinical teams to identify alternate or substitute products when needed

Analyze materials and supply usage to improve quality and reduce cost

Stay current on professional trends and best practices in purchasing and supply chain

Required Skills & Experience

-Bachelor’s degree and/or equivalent combination of education and related experience
-1–2 years of experience in purchasing, supply chain, or a related field
-Strong attention to detail with the ability to multitask and prioritize
-Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other Microsoft Office applications
-Experience working with ERP systems
-Strong communication and problem-solving skills

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-2+ years of experience in healthcare supply chain, medical purchasing, or a regulated industry
-Experience working with medical equipment or clinical supplies
-Familiarity with group purchasing organizations (GPOs)
-Vendor management
