Job Description

Summary of Position
This company is an industry leader in the design, construction, and maintenance of fiber, electrical, and low-voltage systems across the Midwest, West Coast, and East Coast. We are seeking an experienced Operations Manager – ISP/OSP to oversee and lead both Inside Plant (ISP) and Outside Plant (OSP) Project Managers supporting data center and large-scale fiber construction programs.
This role serves as the primary operational liaison between clients/customers and the Project Management team, ensuring clear communication, proper workload distribution, financial accountability, and successful project execution. The Operations Manager provides leadership, oversight, and escalation management across multiple concurrent projects while maintaining alignment with safety, budget, schedule, and client expectations.

Duties and Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Oversight
Provide direct leadership, mentorship, and performance oversight to ISP and OSP Project Managers
Assign and distribute work to Project Managers based on project scope, complexity, and capacity
Act as an escalation point for Project Managers, field leadership, and clients
Support training, development, and continuous improvement of the Project Management team
Promote accountability, consistency, and best practices across all projects
Client & Stakeholder Management
Serve as the primary liaison between clients/customers and internal Project Management teams
Bridge communication gaps between customers and Project Managers to ensure alignment on scope, schedule, and deliverables
Lead client meetings, operational reviews, and status updates as required
Proactively manage client expectations and resolve issues to maintain strong customer relationships
Operational & Financial Management
Maintain working knowledge of all active ISP and OSP projects, including scope, schedule, and budget
Review project performance against budget and schedule; identify risks and corrective actions
Oversee budgets, approvals, change orders, and financial reporting in accordance with company authority guidelines
Approve invoices, receipts, and project-related expenses as defined by the MP Authority Matrix
Support forecasting, cost controls, and profitability across multiple projects
Technical & Process Oversight
Ensure Project Managers understand contract scope, technical specifications, milestones, and change provisions
Review and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project plans
Support project planning and execution for fiber, data center, and low-voltage construction efforts
Ensure projects are executed in compliance with Company, OSHA, and applicable safety standards
Drive standardization of processes, reporting, and documentation across ISP and OSP teams
Administrative & Reporting Responsibilities
Ensure timely and accurate completion of all required documentation, including:
Safety audits and observations
Change orders and billing documentation
Project status and performance reporting
Represent and promote the company’s mission, vision, and values

Required Skills & Experience

-Essential Education and Qualifications
-High School Diploma or GED required
-Valid Driver’s License (DOT health card preferred, if applicable)
-5–8 years of progressive leadership experience, ideally as a -Senior Project Manager, Program Manager, or Operations Manager
-Strong background in ISP and/or OSP fiber construction, data centers, or low-voltage systems
-Demonstrated ability to lead and manage multiple Project Managers across concurrent projects
-Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including budgeting, tracking, and approvals
-Ability to read and interpret blueprints, construction drawings, and project plans
-Proficient in MS Office Suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, Project, PowerPoint)
-Strong organizational, communication, and decision-making skills
-Comfortable operating in high-demand, client-facing environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with Bluebeam preferred (not required)
