Insight Global is partnering with a large agricultural client to hire an Accounting Manager to join their Energy Wholesale Accounting team. This team supports the refined fuels, propane, and lubricants product lines and is led by a Senior Accounting Manager who is looking for a hands-on, experienced leader to help bring stability, structure, and depth following a recent SAP S/4 HANA conversion. Day-to-day, this role entails leading and developing a team of staff and senior-level accountants, owning the full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close process end-to-end, driving full general ledger accounting (including journal entry review, reconciliations, accruals, and complex accounting issues), supporting internal and external audit and SEC reporting requirements, and partnering with business leaders to provide decision support while continuously improving processes and controls.

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including prior leadership of staff and/or senior-level accountants.
- Proven, end-to-end ownership of full month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close.
- Strong full GL accounting background (not primarily AP/AR, cash applications, or shared services / transactional work).
- Comfort navigating complex accounting issues, accruals, reconciliations, and analytical work.
- Strong time management, ability to juggle priorities, and willingness to be hands-on alongside the team.
- Strong US GAAP and internal controls foundation, including audit support experience.
- ERP experience and comfort working within and across a chart of accounts.
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Cost accounting experience (a major plus, given the commercial and refinery accounting environment).
- Experience supporting a publicly reported entity or contributing to SEC-level reporting.
- SAP (S/4 HANA) or JDE experience. SAP is not required, the team believes it can be learned by the right candidate.
- Experience supporting or stabilizing a team post-ERP implementation.
- Audit liaison experience as the primary point of contact with external auditors.
