Job Description
The Virtual Commissioning Engineer will support our client's automation projects by building and validating Digital Twin virtual systems prior to physical deployment.
Virtual Build & Simulation
• Sit at a workstation and build virtual panels, robotic cells, and systems
• Perform virtual wiring and system layout work
• Apply Kinematics to 3D Models
• Import and work with mechanical and electrical design data
• Use simulation tools to emulate full system behavior
Controls & PLC Integration
• Connect virtual systems to PLC and HMI environments
• Make modifications to existing Rockwell (Allen‑Bradley) PLC programs
• Begin working within Siemens and Mitsubishi PLC environments as exposure grows
• Support troubleshooting and validation of controls logic
Testing & Validation
• Run full system simulations to validate functionality
• Support debugging prior to physical build and startup
• Work closely with other engineers in a highly technical, computer‑based environment
TOOLS & TECHNOLOGY
• PLC Platforms: Rockwell (Allen‑Bradley), Siemens, Mitsubishi
• Simulation / Virtual Commissioning Tools: Roboguide, Emulate3D, Process Simulate
• Design & Engineering: Electrical drawings, mechanical design documentation
• Environment: PC‑based engineering and simulation tools
WORK ENVIRONMENT / EXPECTATIONS
• Primarily desk‑based, computer‑heavy engineering role
• On‑site presence required in Rochester Hills
• Strong attention to detail and documentation quality expected
• Reliable, consistent attendance
Compensation:
$45/hr to $53/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
• Strong ability to read and interpret electrical drawings
• Experience with mechanical design concepts
• Basic PLC programming and troubleshooting experience
• Comfort with a desk‑based, computer‑heavy engineering role
• Ability to support virtual system buildouts and debugging work
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with simulation tools such as Roboguide, Emulate3D, and/or Process Simulate
• Prior virtual commissioning/ Digital Twin experience
• Exposure to PLC platforms beyond Rockwell (Siemens and/or Mitsubishi)
