Job Description
DAY‑TO‑DAY RESPONSIBILITIES
Gear Center (Primary Focus)
• Program, set up, and operate CNC mills, lathes, and gear-manufacturing equipment (hobbing, honing, grinding)
• Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, GD&T, and machining parameters
• Perform machine setup verification and first‑piece validation
• Troubleshoot machining issues, adjust programs, and maintain tight tolerance and surface finish requirements
• Install and adjust tooling, fixtures, chucks, and workholding
• Perform preventive maintenance and escalate mechanical/electrical issues as needed
• Manage in-process material flow and tooling inventory to support prototype schedules
• Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering on tooling, fixturing, and process improvements
Inspection / Metrology (Secondary)
• Program and operate gear inspection systems (Gleason, Klingelnberg)
• Program and operate CMM equipment for gears, shafts, bearings, housings, and drivetrain components
• Perform surface finish inspections and open-setup measurements
• Interpret inspection charts and generate inspection reports
• Disposition nonconforming parts per client's Built‑In‑Quality requirements
• Support root-cause analysis and data-driven corrective actions
E‑Motor Lab Support
• Support prototype and pre‑production electric motor builds
• Assist with defect analysis, repair, and rework
• Operate lab equipment including presses, welders, balancers, ovens, induction heaters, hi‑pot/surge testers
• Perform electrical and mechanical testing per authorized procedures
• Support fixture modification and tooling fabrication as needed
Compensation:
$45/hr to $50/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years experience in machining, inspection, or prototype manufacturing
• Strong CNC machining capability (mills, lathes, gear manufacturing equipment)
• Ability to read and interpret GD&T and precision engineering drawings
• Hands-on experience with CMMs and gear inspection systems
• Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
• Experience working in prototype or low‑volume manufacturing environments
• Proficiency with computer-based documentation and reporting (MS Office)
• Flexibility to support multiple operational areas and shifts
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Gear manufacturing and inspection experience (hobbing, grinding, charts)
• Electric motor or electromechanical assembly/testing experience
• Experience supporting cross-functional teams (machining, inspection, assembly)
• Familiarity with client's Built‑In‑Quality or similar quality systems
• Pre-production or R&D manufacturing background
