Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Material Group Leader to support a leading automotive manufacturing client in a plant environment. This individual will be responsible for overseeing union employees and ensuring the smooth flow of materials across assembly and machining lines. The ideal candidate is a hands-on leader who thrives in fast-paced manufacturing environments, prioritizes safety, and drives team accountability. This role requires strong floor presence, operational awareness, and the ability to keep production running efficiently through effective supervision and coordination.
Day-to-Day:
• Supervise 20–30 UAW employees on the plant floor
• Oversee loading and unloading of parts/materials
• Ensure assembly and machining lines remain fully supplied
• Drive and enforce safety standards across the team
• Hold employees accountable to performance and production goals
• Walk the plant floor extensively to monitor operations
• Utilize client's internal systems for tracking and reporting
• Handle timekeeping and attendance on a daily basis
• Handle disciplinary issues per UAW practices
Compensation:
$29/hr to $39/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
• 1–5 years of prior UAW supervisory/managerial experience - supervising hourly union employees (20–30 employees)
• Strong leadership and accountability mindset
• Experience working in manufacturing/plant environments
• Ability to be on feet and walk throughout plant for extended periods
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Automotive/OEM experience
• Warehouse management experience
• Supply chain or logistics background
• Experience with material flow, assembly line support, or machining operations
