Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Machining Group Leader for a manufacturing client in Flint, MI. This role will be responsible for supervising a machining production area, overseeing daily operations across CNC machines, manual machining centers, and related equipment. You will lead and support 10–20 hourly production employees, ensuring safe, efficient, and high‑quality machining operations. The Group Leader will work closely with maintenance and tooling teams to address machine downtime, coordinate preventive maintenance, and troubleshoot machining and equipment issues to maintain throughput. Responsibilities include ensuring production schedules, takt times, and quality standards are consistently met while enforcing standard work, safety procedures, and machining best practices. Additional duties include timekeeping and attendance tracking, coaching and performance management of operators, and driving continuous improvement initiatives focused on machining efficiency, scrap reduction, and process capability. You will also develop and implement production tracking and quality control systems, analyzing machining performance, quality data, and maintenance trends to identify root causes of production issues and implement corrective actions.

Pay Range: $28-35/hr

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Benefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave.

Required Skills & Experience

• 2+ years of supervisory experience
• Experience overseeing production lines
• Can explain process improvements they have implemented on a production line
• Confident personality ("someone who isn't a jerk, but knows how to say, 'No.'")

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience supervising UAW employees
• Direct experience working in a machining area
