Job Description
We are seeking a highly driven Project Engineer to lead and coordinate a large-scale Hot Run installation project. This individual will serve as the central point of contact across suppliers, internal teams, and installation partners, owning execution from design through commissioning. This is a high-visibility role where success is defined by the ability to drive timelines, coordinate cross-functional teams, and ensure seamless equipment installation and startup.
Key Responsibilities
• Serve as the primary project lead and central point of contact between Ford teams, suppliers, and installation partners
• Manage the full lifecycle of the Hot Run project, including:
o Equipment design coordination
o Installation oversight
o Commissioning and startup execution
• Collaborate closely with:
o Tier 2 suppliers and integrators
o Facilities Group
o Plant operations and installation teams
• Oversee installation and integration of Hot Run systems, including:
o Engine start systems
o Fuel delivery
o Coolant systems
o Engine harness connections
o Nitrogen purge systems
• Coordinate commissioning efforts for engine and transmission testing equipment
• Drive project timelines, proactively identify risks, and escalate issues as needed
• Lead and facilitate cross-functional meetings to ensure alignment and progress
• Ensure clear, consistent communication across all stakeholders
• Support handoff from design phase through installation and into full production readiness
Compensation:
$50/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related field)
• 5+ years of experience in project engineering or project management within automotive or manufacturing environments
• Strong background working with equipment installation and commissioning
• Experience coordinating with suppliers, integrators, and plant operations teams
• Proven ability to manage complex, cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders
• Excellent communication and organizational skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Solid understanding of industrial systems such as:
o Fluid systems (fuel, coolant)
o Engine or powertrain systems
o Facilities/utilities (ventilation, exhaust, nitrogen systems)
