Job Description

A large retail & commercial bank is looking for a Network Security Architect to join their team in Mexico. The role can be fully REMOTE. The candidate must be bilingual in English/Spanish. The bank has close to $90B in assets, 9K employees and more than 2M customers along the east coast. In addition to providing excellent banking experiences for their customers, the bank also very involved in the community through charitable giving and philanthropy to give back to low/moderate income and underserved communities.

The Network Security Architect will support the Unity Project, an initiative designed to integrate two entities so they can operate and communicate as one from both an infrastructure and security perspective. This role will be responsible for designing and architecting connectivity solutions, establishing secure communication patterns, and aligning both organizations to a unified network and security framework. This architect will join a small team, working closely with networking and security groups to shape the strategic direction and build the future-state architecture.

Key Responsibilities
- Develop end-to-end network and security architecture designs, including segmentation strategies, DMZ structures, and third‑party connectivity models.
-Review existing assessments and recommendations (such as Third-Party's evaluation for one of the entities) and translate them into actionable enhancement plans.
- Partner with networking and security teams to define the “go‑forward” architectural roadmap and ensure alignment across both organizations.
-Create high‑quality architecture diagrams using DrawIO or similar tools.
-Provide subject‑matter expertise on firewall policies, network topology, and secure infrastructure design.
Contribute to future implementation planning after architecture sign‑off.

Compensation:
$15/hr to $20/hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including location, skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of experience as a Network Architect, Security Architect, or combined Network Security Architect.
- Proven experience creating technical diagrams and architecture documentation (DrawIO or comparable tools).
- Strong hands‑on or architectural-level experience with: Firewalls: Palo Alto, Checkpoint AND Switching Platforms: Arista, Cisco
- Ability to evaluate current‑state infrastructure and design future‑state solutions from scratch (per needs described in internal documentation).
- Experience designing secure network environments including segmentation, DMZ structures, cloud/on‑prem connectivity, and cross‑entity integrations.
- Bilingual (Spanish & English
