Job Description
We’re hiring a Senior/Principal Embedded Software Developer to design, develop, and optimize embedded software for brewer appliance platforms. This person will play a key role across the full software development lifecycle, from architecture through deployment, while owning complex modules independently and mentoring more junior engineers.
This role sits at the intersection of hands-on development and technical leadership, helping drive code quality, best practices, and overall team performance.
Compensation: $130/hr Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education. Employees in this role will enjoy a comprehensive benefits package starting on day one of employment, including options for medical, dental, and vision insurance. Eligibility to enroll in the 401(k) retirement plan begins after 90 days of employment. Required Skills & Experience
• 10–15+ years of embedded software development experience (depending on education level or equivalent experience)
• Strong expertise in C/C++ for embedded systems
• Experience working with real-time operating systems (FreeRTOS)
• Hands-on experience with low-level driver integration, including:
○ I2C, SPI, UART, GPIO
○ ADC, PWM, LCD, LED
• Experience with embedded IoT technologies, such as:
○ BLE, WiFi, MQTT
○ TLS, DHCP, TCP/UDP, GATT, X.509
• Proven ability to operate independently and own complex technical deliverables
• Experience participating in full SDLC (design, development, testing, deployment, maintenance)
***Ability to lead code reviews and mentor junior engineers
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Background in consumer electronics or appliance software development
• Experience working in Agile environments (Scrum)
- Familiarity with tools such as Jira, Confluence, Bitbucket, Git
