Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Capital Project Engineer to support utilities and facilities related capital projects within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role will focus on the planning, design, and execution of HVAC and critical utility system projects tied to facility expansions, upgrades, and infrastructure improvements. The position serves as a technical subject matter expert, ensuring projects are delivered in compliance with GMP standards while meeting performance, reliability, and energy efficiency requirements.
The ideal candidate brings experience leading capital projects within pharmaceutical, biotech, or similarly regulated environments, along with strong technical expertise in HVAC and utility systems and a proactive, solutions driven approach.
Key Responsibilities:
• Lead capital projects involving HVAC systems, utilities infrastructure, and facility upgrades
• Manage projects from concept through design, execution, commissioning, and handoff to operations
• Provide technical oversight for HVAC systems including air handlers, chillers, exhaust systems, and building automation systems
• Develop project scopes, budgets, and timelines while ensuring alignment with site and production needs
• Review engineering designs, vendor submittals, and commissioning plans to ensure technical accuracy and compliance
• Partner with internal stakeholders and external contractors to drive project execution and delivery
• Ensure all systems and project activities meet Good Manufacturing Practices, internal SOPs, and regulatory requirements
• Collaborate with Quality and Validation teams to support system qualification, change control, and startup activities
• Support troubleshooting and issue resolution during project execution and system commissioning
• Conduct risk assessments and implement design improvements to enhance system reliability and maintainability
• Partner with Facilities, Engineering, Automation, Manufacturing, and EHS teams to ensure successful project outcomes
• Support audits and inspections by providing project documentation and subject matter expertise
• Identify opportunities for infrastructure improvements and long term capital planning
