Job Description
The Site Safety & Health Officer (SSHO) will oversee all safety-related activities on the project, ensuring compliance with USACE requirements, EM 385-1-1 standards, OSHA regulations, and project-specific safety plans. This individual will lead site safety initiatives, conduct inspections, manage documentation, and serve as the primary point of contact for all safety matters on the project.

Required Skills & Experience
• OSHA 30 (Construction)
• 5+ years of experience in a dedicated SSHO, Site Safety, or Construction Safety role
• Experience supporting federal and/or USACE construction projects
• Experience implementing and managing a Site Safety & Health (SOH) Program on projects of similar size and scope
• Documented formal safety training completed within the last 3 years
• Strong working knowledge of EM 385-1-1 and OSHA regulations
• Experience managing safety documentation, reporting, inspections, and compliance processes
• Strong communication skills and ability to work directly with project teams, subcontractors, and government representatives
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Previous experience on healthcare, medical repair, or occupied facility renovation projects
• Experience supporting large-scale federal construction projects
• Additional safety certifications and training related to federal construction
• Experience working in active healthcare or mission-critical environments
