Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a Denials Specialist to support a large health system in Annapolis, MD. This role will focus heavily on third-party payor follow-up, denials, and appeals, specifically supporting BCBS-related accounts. Responsibilities include:
• Performs follow-up on all third-party payer accounts receivable and appeals
• Works denials, payor rejections, and accounts with no response from payors
• Ensures maximum cash flow through billing, collections, and claims submission
• Uses Epic to manage hospital billing workflows and work queues
• Bills claims using UB-04 forms across patient classes (inpatient, outpatient, ED, ambulatory)
• Acts as a liaison with patients, internal departments, and Patient Financial Services teammates
• Obtains insurance information and required authorizations
• Communicates with payors and external departments to resolve receivables
• Maintains compliance with state, federal, and local billing and reimbursement regulations
• Follows standard daily work for third-party follow-up and reporting
Performs additional duties as assigned

Required Skills & Experience
Must-have:
• High School Diploma
• Minimum 2 years of experience performing hospital accounts receivable or relevant experience
• Hospital billing experience
• Experience working hospital denials
• Hospital billing experience
• Experience working in Epic
• UB-04 billing form experience
• Flu shot required
Non-smoker
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Associate’s degree
CRCS (Certified Revenue Cycle Specialist) or HBI Certification
BCBS experience (highly preferred)
