Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an FPGA Engineer to support an Army research and development program focused on advanced Electronic Warfare (EW), cyber, communications, and Software Defined Radio (SDR) technologies. This engineer will play a key role in the design, development, integration, and testing of FPGA-based solutions supporting next-generation defense capabilities.
The ideal candidate has a strong background in FPGA development and is comfortable working across hardware, software, and embedded environments. This role will focus heavily on FPGA technologies and SDR-based systems, requiring a hands-on engineer who can contribute throughout the development lifecycle—from architecture and design through integration, testing, and deployment.
This individual will work closely with software, embedded, and systems engineering teams to develop innovative solutions that directly support mission-critical capabilities for the warfighter.
Responsibilities
Design, develop, and test FPGA-based solutions using VHDL and/or Verilog.
Support development efforts utilizing Xilinx FPGA, SoC, and RFSoC platforms.
Develop and integrate FPGA functionality with embedded processors and software applications.
Support Software Defined Radio (SDR) development, integration, and testing activities.
Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineering teams to develop mission-focused solutions.
Perform system integration, troubleshooting, debugging, and performance optimization.
Support architecture development, technical planning, and design reviews.
Participate in testing and validation activities supporting RF, communications, EW, and cyber-focused systems.
$66hr to $86hr.
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
• Active Top Secret Security Clearance w/ eligibility to be read on for SCI
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related technical field
• 5+ years of FPGA design and development experience
• Experience with VHDL and/or Verilog
• Experience developing FPGA-based solutions using Xilinx platforms, including SoC and RFSoC devices
• Experience integrating software and hardware within embedded systems
• Experience supporting digital signal processing (DSP), RF communications, or signal processing applications
• Experience with FPGA design, development, testing, and system integration
• Familiarity with Software Defined Radio (SDR) architectures and concepts
•Strong troubleshooting and debugging skills within FPGA and embedded environments
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• TS/SCI Clearance or Polygraph
• Experience with Software Defined Radio (SDR) development and integration
• Experience with Electronic Warfare (EW), Cyber, or tactical communications systems
• Experience with Xilinx Vivado, Vitis, and related development tools
• Experience developing integrated solutions utilizing both embedded processors and FPGA fabric
• Experience with RF signal processing, modulations, digital sampling, error correction, or compression techniques
• Experience with C, C++, Python, or MATLAB
• Experience supporting defense R&D or prototype development efforts
• Experience with Linux-based embedded systems
