Job Description
A client is seeking a Protection & Controls/Settings Engineer for a long-term contract that can sit remotely. This engineer will join a team that support capital projects associated with updating and building new substations for transmission projects. The daily functions of this role include developing relay settings for protection in new installations and upgrade projects in support of the capital plan. Settings will include working with 87L, POTT, DCUB, and DCB schemes via fiber, multimedia, microwave, and power line carrier. This engineer will review, create and analyze settings work for one-lines, three-lines and logic diagrams. They will also conduct fault studies with Aspen OneLiner to diagnose failures and malfunctions for the equipment. Lastly, strong project management skills are required to be successful in this position that will work internally with different teams and externally with partners for arranging bids, gathering specifications, awards and commissioning.

Required Skills & Experience
Electrical Engineering degree
5+ years of Protection and Controls (P&C) experience
5+ year's experience developing, reviewing and testing relay settings working with SEL relays
Utility experience
Strong project management and communication skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
Knowledge of SCADA systems
Automation/scripting skills
Experience with equipment like relay panels and RTUs
