Job Description

A leading banking/financial services organization is seeking a Lead Solution Architect to join their Technology & Innovation group, driving architecture and ownership of client services and client onboarding platforms.
This role is a hands-on architecture position with strong leadership responsibilities, focused on designing scalable, secure, and highly integrated systems across internal platforms and external partners. The ideal candidate will operate comfortably in ambiguous environments, take end-to-end ownership, and lead both technical direction and execution across cross-functional teams.
This individual will play a critical role in modernizing API ecosystems, enabling secure integrations, and supporting payments/card processing platforms, while partnering closely with business stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
Own end-to-end solution architecture for client onboarding and client services platforms
Translate complex business requirements into scalable, secure architecture designs and system blueprints
Lead architecture and integration strategy across .NET, Azure, APIs, and enterprise data platforms
Drive development of API frameworks from scratch, including integration with Snowflake, Salesforce, and third-party systems
Establish and enforce API security, mTLS, and enterprise security standards
Lead architecture for identity & access management (IAM), including SSO implementation
Partner with security teams on risk management and vulnerability remediation strategies
Provide architectural leadership across payments systems and card processing platforms (TSYS strongly preferred)
Work closely with business stakeholders to perform requirements gathering and feasibility analysis
Lead and mentor engineering teams while driving delivery in an Agile environment
Operate with a high degree of ownership across application operations and IT lifecycle management

Required Skills & Experience

10+ years of experience in software engineering, with transition into solution/technical architecture roles
Experience with TSYS / credit card processing platforms (highly preferred)
Experience working on payments systems or card issuance platforms
Prior experience in enterprise architecture and leading initiatives end to end
Strong expertise in .NET / C# and Azure-based cloud architecture
Proven experience designing and building enterprise-grade APIs from the ground up
Deep experience integrating APIs with Snowflake, Salesforce, and external third-party systems
Hands-on experience with Azure cloud deployments and distributed systems design
Experience with Apache or similar tools for data integration and orchestration
Strong background in API security, including mTLS and secure communication frameworks
Experience implementing SSO and Identity & Access Management solutions
Knowledge of risk management, security controls, and vulnerability remediation
Proven ability to gather requirements and translate them into architecture and solution design
Experience working directly with business stakeholders and cross-functional teams
Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments with minimal direction
Demonstrated leadership, ownership, and initiative-driven mindset
Strong experience within banking/financial services, especially in payments ecosystems
