Job Description

Insight Global is seeking an Accessibility Testing Specialist with strong expertise in manual accessibility testing and mobile accessibility testing across digital platforms. This individual will support accessibility audits and compliance efforts aligned to WCAG 2.1 Level AA and the Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA). The ideal candidate brings deep hands-on experience using assistive technologies, validating accessibility through manual testing techniques, and leveraging Deque Axe tools to support reporting and continuous monitoring.

Required Skills & Experience

1. Accessibility Testing Experience
3+ years of experience in accessibility testing
Strong hands-on experience with manual accessibility testing methodologies
Experience testing against WCAG 2.1 Level AA
Knowledge of the Accessibility for Manitobans Act (AMA) and related accessibility standards

2. Web / Manual Testing
Experience conducting manual accessibility audits across web applications and responsive digital experiences
Strong experience with keyboard-only navigation testing
Experience validating accessibility of forms, interactive elements, dynamic content, and navigation patterns
Strong understanding of semantic HTML, ARIA, content structure, and focus management

3. Mobile Accessibility Testing
Experience testing accessibility across mobile applications and mobile-responsive experiences
Hands-on experience testing on iOS and Android
Experience validating mobile accessibility using VoiceOver and TalkBack
Ability to assess touch navigation, gestures, native controls, screen reader behavior, and mobile form interactions

4. Assistive Technology / Tools
Experience using assistive technologies including JAWS, NVDA, VoiceOver, and TalkBack
Hands-on experience with Axe DevTools
Experience with Axe Monitor and/or Axe Auditor
Experience using defect tracking tools such as JIRA or Azure DevOps

5. Technical / Code Awareness
Technical familiarity with HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, and ARIA
Ability to clearly communicate accessibility issues and remediation guidance to technical teams

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Experience with the broader Deque Axe suite, including Axe CLI
Experience integrating accessibility checks into CI/CD pipelines such as GitHub Actions, GitLab, or Jenkins
Familiarity with front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, and Vue
Knowledge of PDF accessibility and document tagging standards
IAAP certification such as CPACC or WAS
Experience working within government or public sector accessibility environments
Experience mentoring developers, designers, or QA teams on accessibility best practices
Familiarity with Chrome DevTools and Firefox Developer Edition for accessibility inspection and debugging
