Job Description

Insight Global’s data center client is seeking a Mechanical Engineer who will act as the technical authority across mechanical systems, partnering closely with construction leads and design consultants to drive projects from design through execution. The role focuses heavily on design phase leadership, including page turns, RFI and submittal review, quality control, and field walks. The ideal candidate brings a strong construction background, deep MEP expertise, and the ability to provide thought leadership across cross‑functional teams while owning the technical success of complex, long‑duration projects.

Pay rate: $70-85/hr, dependent on experience

Required Skills & Experience

5+ years experience in Mechanical Engineering
Strong construction background with full project lifecycle exposure
Experience as an Owner’s Engineer or similar technical leadership role
Expertise in complex mechanical systems
Engineering degree or equivalent experience
Hands‑on experience reviewing RFIs and submittals
Ability to lead through design phase (30%–IFC)
Mission-critical, hyperscale, or colocation data center background
Comfortable leading cross‑functional teams
