Job Description
This Business Analyst will support both a budget system implementation (Sherpa BFM) and a Budget-to-Report (B2R) workstream within an SAP transformation. This person acts as the bridge between Finance/Budget teams, IT/data teams, and external implementation partners.
• Partner with finance, budget, and technical teams to gather requirements and define future-state processes
• Support system configuration, including workflows, forms, security, and reporting structures
• Validate financial and HR data loads, troubleshoot issues, and ensure data accuracy
• Participate in testing cycles (UAT, integration), including executing test cases, identifying defects, and driving resolution
• Help design, review, and validate reports, dashboards, and financial outputs to meet business and leadership needs
• Collaborate with implementation partners and internal stakeholders to track progress and resolve issues
• Contribute to training materials and support end users during testing, go-live, and adoption phases
• Monitor project milestones, risks, and dependencies; provide clear updates to stakeholders and escalate issues when needed
• Support go-live readiness and assist with ongoing system improvements across budgeting and financial reporting processes

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst or Systems Analyst for complex finance, budgeting, or reporting initiatives
• Proven experience supporting an ERP, budgeting tool, or financial system implementation including requirements, testing, and data validation
• Strong understanding of finance, budgeting, or procurement processes, specifically the Budget to Report process
• Ability to translate business needs into system workflows, configurations, and reporting requirements
• Experience with data analysis, data migration validation, and reconciliation across financial datasets
• Hands-on involvement in testing cycles (unit, integration, and user acceptance testing) and defect tracking
• Strong communication skills with experience working across business, technical, and stakeholder teams
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in public sector or government finance, budgeting, or government reporting
• Experience supporting an SAP modernization
• Experience with SAP S/4 HANA
• Knowledge of SAP reporting tools (SAC, Fiori, Embedded Analytics)
• Experience with SAP S/4HANA Finance, Funds Management, Grand Management, Universal Journal, and/or Budget Control (AVC)
• Exposure to budget formulation tools (Sherpa preferred)
