Job Description

The Azure Cloud Architect will be responsible for architecting, designing, and implementing cloud architectures, as well as migrating workloads to the cloud. This role involves working on multiple assignments related to cloud migration activities, including setup, migration, and optimization.
The Azure Cloud Architect will collaborate with business teams to understand requirements, assess current (“as‑is”) environments, and design target public cloud architectures. Architecture decisions will be guided by industry standards and best practices (e.g., Azure Architecture Framework). The role also requires supporting workload migrations and proactively identifying opportunities to optimize migration processes. A strong automation‑focused mindset and comfort using modern tooling are essential.

Key Responsibilities

Architect Azure solutions across services such as Azure Networking, Azure Functions, App Service, Data Factory, Azure Files, custom RBAC, virtual machine hardening, IoT, storage, Azure databases, Sentinel, backup and recovery modules, Azure AD, containers, security, and analytics.
Support migration of customer workloads to the public cloud by designing target architectures for existing on‑premises environments.
Analyze applications targeted for migration to the public cloud.
Create architecture diagrams based on best practices and customer requirements; present and walk through designs with customers to gain alignment and approval.
Perform migrations from on‑premises environments to Azure using 6R techniques (e.g., re‑hosting, re‑platforming, refactoring), based on customer needs.
Build and maintain security, network, and systems management solutions within Azure and/or AWS environments.
Implement availability, scalability, and performance strategies for cloud‑based managed services.
Improve processes and quality through automation, including Infrastructure as Code (IaC), automated security controls and alerts, and routine maintenance tasks.
Collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and developers to create functional design specifications.
Lead and establish best practices for the broader Cloud Engineering team.
Coordinate with DevOps teams on additional automation beyond the infrastructure layer.
Provide guidance on infrastructure migration techniques, including bulk application transfers to the cloud.
Design, develop, and architect cloud solutions aligned with business, security, and service‑level requirements.
Partner with developers and engineers to recommend and design database and data storage solutions.
Manage migrations of existing databases from on‑premises to cloud using available tools.
Review code related to application upgrades, enhancements, or new development.
Analyze applications for data integrity issues.
Mentor junior technical staff and support development activities with advanced tools when appropriate.
Develop automated solutions to monitor and support software development and release processes.
