Job Description
Our client, a State of California department, is seeking an experienced ServiceNow Solution Architect to support the configuration, enhancement, and ongoing optimization of their ServiceNow platform. This role will serve as a technical and architectural lead, ensuring scalable, secure, and best‑practice‑aligned ServiceNow solutions that support enterprise business processes.
The ideal candidate will have extensive hands‑on experience administering and developing within ServiceNow environments, strong architectural judgment, and the ability to collaborate with technical and business stakeholders in a public sector environment.
Key Responsibilities
Serve as the Solution Architect for the ServiceNow platform, providing architectural guidance and technical leadership.
Administer, configure, and enhance core ServiceNow applications, including but not limited to:
- Service Catalog
- Service Portal
- Knowledge Base
Design and implement workflows, custom applications, custom notifications, assessments, and web services within ServiceNow.
Develop and configure solutions using the ServiceNow App Engine (Low‑Code) environment.
Ensure application security best practices are followed, including configuration of security controls within ServiceNow.
Support integrations with enterprise directory services and other external systems.
Apply relational database knowledge to support ServiceNow data structures and integrations.
Collaborate with business and technical stakeholders to translate requirements into scalable ServiceNow solutions.
Provide documentation and knowledge transfer as required.

Required Skills & Experience
• Minimum experience and education requirements for SLP Solution Architect
• Five years of Experience administering a ServiceNow instance to Configure and enhance core application including, but not limited to, Service Catalog, Service Portal, Knowledge Base, Management.
• Two Years Experience with developing in the ServiceNow App Engine Low Code Environment
• One year of Experience in Relational database expertise in relation to an enterprise software system(Oracle, MS SQL, MySQL)
• One year of experience with Application Security and configuration on ServiceNow
• One year of experience with Directory Services in an enterprise environment
• One year of Experience in the development of workflows, custom web services, custom notifications, assessments, custom app in ServiceNow
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• 5 points will be awarded for every year of experience configuring ServiceNow for a State of CA Department. Not to exceed 20 points.
