Job Description
One of Insight Global's clients is looking for a Workplace Technology Design Consultant to join their team. This person will support facility and infrastructure planning efforts by developing and modifying floor plans for A/V systems, video conferencing, IoT devices, network drops, surveillance cameras, and other building technologies. They will participate in building walkthroughs to assess customer needs, gather requirements, and determine the appropriate IT and infrastructure layouts for conference rooms, office spaces, and specialty environments. On a daily basis, they will work closely with internal teams such as Enterprise Telecom, Network Operations, and Video Conferencing, as well as architects, construction project managers, and external vendors involved in space planning efforts. This role will also help support a Space Optimization and Utilization Project by identifying design issues, offering practical solutions, and ensuring infrastructure needs align with each group's occupancy plans. The ideal candidate will assist with mapping and marking floor plans across multiple buildings, helping define seating, room configurations, and technology requirements.. They will also support post-implementation walkthroughs to confirm all requirements were delivered successfully and serve as a liaison to workplace solutions leadership throughout the process.

Required Skills & Experience
- 5+ years of experience working with infrastructure design, floor plans, and building technology layouts
- Experience with construction markups, AutoCAD, Bluebeam Revu, or similar design/layout tools
- Knowledge of network infrastructure, including data jacks, Wi-Fi layouts, access point placement, low-voltage conduit, and data closets
- Understanding of facility IT systems, including A/V systems, video conferencing, surveillance cameras, and IoT device placement
- Experience interpreting and modifying floor plans to support technology and space planning requirements
- Ability to conduct on-site building walkthroughs to assess customer needs and gather technical requirements
- Strong communication skills and ability to partner with architects, construction project managers, vendors, and internal IT teams
- Willingness to learn internal processes and work closely with a senior team member for knowledge transfer
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Experience supporting space optimization, workplace planning, or utilization projects
- Background working in the government space
- Exposure to building moves/adds/changes, restacking, or footprint reduction projects
