Job Description

An employer is looking for a hands-on Application Security Engineer / Platform Remediation Specialist to assess, stabilize, and secure an existing Globalscape environment that has been deprecated and is no longer actively maintained. This role is focused on cleanup, risk mitigation, and ensuring the platform meets current security and compliance standards—not on building new functionality. This person will Perform a comprehensive assessment of the current Globalscape (EFT) environment, identifying security vulnerabilities, outdated components, and configuration risks. They will remediate known vulnerabilities, including patching, configuration hardening, and eliminating unsupported or deprecated components. They will implement security best practices across the platform (e.g., access controls, encryption standards, audit logging, secure file transfer protocols). They will clean up legacy integrations, scripts, and workflows to reduce risk and improve maintainability. They will ensure the platform aligns with internal security policies and external compliance standards where applicable. This person will document the current state, remediation steps taken, and provide clear recommendations for ongoing support or future migration if needed. They will collaborate with infrastructure, security, and application teams to validate fixes and ensure minimal disruption to business operations
