Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Senior Software Developer in Test for a Retail Technology client in Toronto, ON. You will play a key role in delivering high-quality, reliable, and defect-free solutions across our core platform and client-facing applications. Working within an agile team, you will help build scalable and reusable solutions aligned with our technology roadmap.
You will design and execute comprehensive testing strategies across functional, integration, regression, and performance testing, while supporting the full QA lifecycle from test planning through defect resolution. This is a hands-on role focused on improving test coverage, strengthening automation, and ensuring consistent application of quality standards.
***This role is a mix between software development and QA, ideally started career as a Software Developer and then moved into Test

Required Skills & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience
- 5 or more years of experience in software development and quality assurance
- Strong programming skills in Typescript, Python, Java, C, C++, or similar languages
- Proven hands-on experience using agentic AI tools such as Claude, GitHub Copilot, Cursor, or similar to support test generation, coverage analysis, and automation workflows
- Experience building and maintaining stable and scalable test automation frameworks
- Solid understanding of functional, integration, system, and performance testing
- Hands-on experience with performance testing tools such as JMeter, Gatling, K6 or similar
- Strong understanding of REST APIs, HTTP protocols, and modern service architectures
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Familiarity with microservices and distributed systems
- Experience with database systems, data warehouses, and OLAP technologies
- Exposure to containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes
- Experience working in Agile environments
