Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Business Lead – Tax Compliance to support a portfolio of high‑impact regulatory and remediation initiatives within a Tier 1 FI. This role is intentionally niche and sits at the intersection of Canadian tax compliance, regulatory delivery, and business leadership.
The successful candidate will act as the business SME and integrator, owning the interpretation of tax and regulatory obligations (with a strong emphasis on tax slips) and translating them into clear business requirements, action plans, and execution strategies across multiple projects. This role is not a pure PM or BA; it is a Business Lead accountable for clarity, direction, and regulatory outcomes.

Key Responsibilities
Business Leadership & SME Accountability
• Act as the Business Lead and Tax SME across multiple concurrent initiatives, providing authoritative guidance on Canadian tax compliance obligations.
• Own business interpretation of regulatory requirements (CRA, income tax, reporting obligations) and ensure solutions meet governance and compliance expectations.
• Serve as the key escalation point to level‑set scope, priorities, and expectations, reducing downstream rework and time drain on leadership.
Tax & Regulatory Focus
• Provide deep functional input on tax reporting processes, with a critical focus on Tax Slips (primary gap this role fills).
• Support and complement existing team expertise in FATCA and CRS (knowledge required, but not the primary value-add).
• Ensure projects meet regulatory obligations while balancing client experience and employee experience impacts.
Project & Portfolio Execution
• Lead business execution across a changing portfolio; supporting funding asks with rationale, impact analysis, and business justification.
• Own delivery of select initiatives end-to-end from a business perspective, while partnering with assigned PM(s).
Requirements & Strategic Problem Solving
• Take in, assess, and challenge business and technical responses with a strong critical lens:
○ Identify gaps, inconsistencies, or missed transfers of information.
○ Ask “why” and dig deeper when responses do not reconcile with regulatory intent.
○ Challenge status quo and surface systemic issues versus isolated defects.
• Translate ambiguity into structured actions, priorities, and execution plans.
Stakeholder & Delivery Enablement
• Act as the integration point between Compliance, Tax, PMs, BAs, Product Owners, and SMEs.
• Gather and synthesize inputs to support:
○ Business requirements and change impacts
○ Funding and strategy models
○ Project artifacts (charters, stakeholder lists, governance materials)
• Review and validate project documentation to ensure traceability to regulatory requirements.
• Create clear executive‑level summaries and decks (PPT) for decisioning, gating, and senior updates.
