Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a highly skilled Architecture Integration Engineer to support a client
operating in highly regulated domains, including insurance and healthcare. This role bridges the
gap between architectural vision and developer execution — translating infosec requirements,
cloud architecture standards, and organizational guidance into actionable developer resources,
reference implementations, and reusable patterns that reduce cognitive load across engineering
teams. The ideal candidate combines deep backend engineering expertise with strong AWS
skills, Terraform proficiency, CI/CD mastery, and a passion for enabling other developers to build
secure, scalable systems faster and more consistently.
Key Responsibilities:
• Translate infosec policies, architectural standards, and cloud governance guidance into
clear, actionable developer resources — including reference implementations, starter
templates, runbooks, and best-practice documentation — that reduce cognitive load and
accelerate secure development.
• Design, develop, and maintain backend services and RESTful APIs using AWS serverless and
managed services, following industry best practices for API design (versioning, pagination,
error handling, HATEOAS, idempotency).
• Build and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform, establishing reusable
modules and patterns that enforce organizational standards for security, networking, and
resource provisioning.
• Design and implement CI/CD pipelines using GitHub Actions, including reusable workflows,
environment promotion strategies, automated testing gates, and security scanning
integration.
• Build and support event-driven microservices, ensuring loose coupling, resiliency, and
scalability across distributed systems.
• Own backend data flows, including data modeling, validation, persistence, and system-tosystem integrations.
• Implement secure, performant APIs and asynchronous messaging patterns to support highthroughput workloads.
• Develop and maintain robust scripting solutions (Bash, Python, PowerShell) for automation,
tooling, infrastructure management, and developer workflow improvements.
• Create and curate reusable code libraries, SDK wrappers, and architectural building blocks
that embody approved patterns and reduce duplication across teams.
• Develop and maintain automated tests to ensure reliability, correctness, and long-term
maintainability.
• Monitor, troubleshoot, and optimize backend systems in production environments.
• Collaborate with security, architecture, and platform teams to ensure engineering practices
align with compliance and governance requirements.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and technologies to continuously improve
solutions and developer experience.

Required Skills & Experience

• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing and building backend systems on AWS.
• Strong proficiency with AWS services including Lambda, API Gateway, SQS/SNS, Step
Functions, DynamoDB, S3, CloudFront, IAM, and related serverless/managed components.
• Demonstrated expertise in RESTful API design and best practices — including resource
modeling, versioning strategies, consistent error responses, pagination, rate limiting, and
security (OAuth 2.0, API keys, JWT).
• Hands-on expertise with Terraform for infrastructure provisioning, module development,
state management, and multi-environment deployments.
• Proven experience designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines with GitHub Actions, including
reusable workflows, composite actions, matrix builds, and environment-based deployment
strategies.
• Strong scripting skills in one or more of: Bash, Python, or PowerShell — used for
automation, tooling, data transformation, and infrastructure management.
• Demonstrated ability to convert complex infosec and architectural guidance into practical,
easy-to-follow developer resources and reference implementations that reduce cognitive
load and improve consistency across teams.
• Deep experience designing and supporting event-driven, distributed microservice
architectures.
• Solid background in data modeling, persistence strategies, and data integrity across services.
• Experience implementing automated testing (unit, integration, and service-level tests).
• Advanced experience with .NET Core and C# for backend service development.
• Strong problem-solving skills with high attention to detail in production environments.

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• AWS Certifications (Developer, Solutions Architect, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent).
• Experience building internal developer platforms, golden paths, or self-service tooling for
engineering teams.
• Comfortable working in a scaled agile environment with mature CI/CD practices.
• Experience working with healthcare or insurance data in backend systems.
• Familiarity with healthcare data standards and formats (e.g., HL7, FHIR, claims data models,
HIPAA-compliant data handling).
• Experience with security-as-code practices, including policy-as-code (OPA, Sentinel) and
automated compliance checks.
• Frontend experience with React and Next.js.

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
