Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to assist in an enterprise Tenable 1 Deployment. The focus of the role is shift to an OT environment and the senior level resource needs to be able to the platform and tooling efforts. Daily responsibilities include:
-Own and manage the Tenable 1 platform across the U.S. environment as the primary SME
-Lead TVM (Threat & Vulnerability Management) scanning engineering efforts, including:

-Designing and optimizing scan configurations
-Managing exclusions and tuning scan performance
Support and enhance Nessus deployments across both IT and OT environments


-Work closely with the TVM team to:
Refine scanning strategies
Improve data accuracy and coverage
Ensure proper segmentation between IT and OT assets

-Provide technical guidance and architecture recommendations for ongoing tool enhancements
-Partner with internal stakeholders to ensure effective consumption of vulnerability data by IR teams
-Continuously improve the effectiveness, scalability, and maturity of the Tenable deployment

Required Skills & Experience

-Senior-level Security Engineering experience with a focus on security tooling and vulnerability management architecture
-Hands-on experience with Tenable 1 platform and Nessus, including enterprise deployment and configuration
-Mandatory experience with Nessus OT (Operational Technology module)
-Proven ability to deploy, configure, and optimize vulnerability scanning tools in large enterprise environments
-Strong experience with vulnerability management (TVM) practices, including: Scan tuning and optimization, exclusions and exception handling and asset segmentation (especially IT vs OT separation)
-Experience with security tool implementation lifecycle (design → deploy → optimize → handoff to operations/IR)
-Ability to architect scalable solutions and advise on: Asset tagging strategies, scan architecture and segmentation, data organization and reporting
-Experience with other scanning tools (e.g., Rapid7) and transitioning to Tenable ecosystems
-Strong understanding of how security tooling integrates with Incident Response (IR) workflows
-Security certification (e.g., Security+, CISSP, or equivalent)
-Ability to work independently in a lean team environment as a self-starter and tool owner
-Strong collaboration experience with cross-functional teams (TVM, IR, infrastructure)
-Background in tool standardization or migration initiatives (e.g., Rapid7 → Tenable)

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

-Tenable Certification (Tenable Certified Professional or similar)
-Experience with ASM (Attack Surface Management) modules within Tenable
-Prior experience supporting large-scale OT security environments
