Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a CI Poly Research & Development Specialist in Fort Meade. They will support cybersecurity and software projects. This role focuses on researching, building, and improving secure software systems, finding weaknesses in cyber environments, and helping develop new cyber capabilities.
The ideal candidate has hands‑on experience in cybersecurity research, secure system development, and evaluating new technologies, and can turn mission needs into practical, secure technical solutions.
- Conduct in-depth technology research to identify and assess potential vulnerabilities across perimeter, cloud, and cyber-physical systems.
- Design, develop, and prototype secure technology solutions with cybersecurity embedded throughout the full systems development lifecycle.
- Perform software and systems engineering to deliver new mission-aligned capabilities using secure-by-design principles.
- Evaluate emerging technologies, threats, and trends to guide the creation of innovative, resilient cyber defenses.
- Partner with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to convert operational needs into secure technical concepts, prototypes, and test-ready solutions.
- Assess security risks related to system architectures, software configurations, and acquisition decisions to inform and strengthen new developments.
- Produce clear documentation of research outcomes, designs, test results, and vulnerability analyses to support transition to operational use.
- Support national defense and cyberspace mission objectives through the advancement of next-generation cybersecurity technologies.

Required Skills & Experience
- Active Top-Secret SCI clearance with CI Polygraph completed within the last 6 years
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, engineering, or a related field (or associates degree and 2 additional years of experience or no degree with 4 additional years of experience)
- 7-15 years of experience within research and development of cybersecurity or software/system development to identify/development capabilities/vulnerabilities
- Expertise in secure engineering, vulnerability analysis, and/or emerging cyber technologies
- Demonstrated leadership or mentoring experience
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- SecurityX, CASP+, CEH, RCCE Level 1, or other DoD 8140–approved cyber certifications
