Job Description

The CNC Programmer is responsible for developing, updating, and maintaining CNC programs to support the safe, accurate, and efficient production of machined parts using Mastercam. This role focuses on writing programs for new jobs, revising existing programs when changes occur, and incorporating updated tooling or technology to improve machining processes. A key objective of this position is to reduce scrap, eliminate program errors, and ensure safe machine operation.

This role is minimum on site 4 days a week in Chesapeake VA. Work schedule is 4 x 10 hours days with option overtime on Fridays when work load allows.

Compensation: $35/hr-$45/hr. Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

• Proficient in current CNC programming methods and manufacturing software
• 3–5 years of hands-on experience with Mastercam required
• Working knowledge of Inventor preferred
• Strong mathematical skills, including fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions
• Ability to apply geometry, trigonometry, basic probability, and statistical concepts to machining applications
• Skilled in analyzing problems, evaluating data, and drawing accurate conclusions
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, procedures, and specifications
• Capable of interpreting complex technical instructions, including mathematical and diagram-based information
• Strong written communication skills, including the ability to prepare reports, procedures, and documentation
• Effective verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts and respond to questions from managers, customers, and stakeholders
• Able to manage multiple variables and maintain accuracy in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
