Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Commissioning Agent to support a large engineering consulting firm with commercial new build and retro commissioning projects across California, as well as the Central and Mountain regions. The Commissioning Agent will be responsible for leading commissioning activities for MEP and DER systems from design through project completion. This individual will develop, document, and communicate commissioning plans with internal teams, external project partners, and key stakeholders. The role is primarily remote but requires travel to project sites as needed. Responsibilities also include investigating system performance, documenting findings, and producing internal and client facing commissioning reports. Projects typically support facilities within higher education, K 12 education, healthcare, government, commercial, and industrial environments.

Required Skills & Experience

• 4+ years of experience with automation and controls systems
• Proven experience troubleshooting building systems
• Strong understanding of the commissioning process and guidelines
• Ability to travel to job sites as needed

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience with DER, plumbing, fire alarm/life safety systems, lighting and lighting controls, and test & balance procedures
• Experience writing commissioning reports
• Experience supporting commercial retro commissioning projects
• Familiarity with the ESCO process
