Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Application Support Engineer to support business‑critical investment applications (RRSP, TFSA, RESP) in a 24/7 production environment. This role focuses on server‑side application support, incident management, release support, and troubleshooting, working closely with internal development teams and a third‑party vendor (Broadridge). This is a high‑impact role supporting systems that directly affect branch operations and investment trading. We are looking for candidates who have experience supporting critical, customer‑facing systems ideally in Banking/Financial services and/or Wealth Management. This role has the potential to turn into a full time employment based on performance and fit with the team.

Day‑to‑Day Responsibilities
- Monitor and support business‑critical production applications
- Troubleshoot server‑side issues (Linux / Red Hat)
- Analyze logs and resolve incidents with very tight recovery windows
- Support production & QA releases (4 per year)
- Run and monitor batch cycles
- Work closely with vendor (Broadridge) and internal teams
- Participate in on‑call rotation (weekends / after hours as scheduled)
- Learn systems from a retiring team member (knowledge transfer)

Required Skills & Experience

- 4–6 years in Application Support/Production Support, and familiarity with ITIL processes (Incident, Problem, Change Management)
- Strong Linux/Red Hat server experience, Bash scripting
- Hands‑on Oracle database support + SQL
- Some development background scripting/automation (Java or Python, Ansible/YAML are plusses), important to understand how apps are built, not just restarting servers
- Understanding of application lifecycle management (Dev / QA / Prod)
- Comfortable with on‑call and weekend support
- Strong communication with the ability to troubleshoot quickly in high‑pressure environments

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- AWS or cloud exposure
- Financial services or wealth platform experience
- Development background (debugging/support level)
