Job Description
Insight Global is seeking a FinOps Analyst for a large enterprise infrastructure and technology client. This individual will play a critical practitioner role focused on driving accountability and optimization across a massive multi-cloud environment. The FinOps Analyst will partner directly with hundreds of engineering and business account owners, translating cloud cost data into clear actions that drive measurable savings. This role goes beyond reporting — it is hands-on, relationship-driven, and outcomes-focused, ideal for someone who enjoys influencing behavior, solving cost challenges, and helping organizations mature their FinOps practices from the ground up.

Own a portfolio of 500+ cloud account owners across AWS, Azure, GCP, and/or OCI
Lead monthly cost review meetings covering spend trends, anomalies, and optimization opportunities
Deliver actionable rightsizing and savings recommendations with business context
Track optimization actions and follow up to ensure adoption and results
Monitor and investigate spend anomalies (>20% WoW spikes) and drive resolution
Support cloud spend forecasting and budget vs. actual variance analysis
Identify and flag teams trending over budget with proactive recommendations
Monitor tagging compliance and partner with account owners and data teams on remediation
Support FinOps education, onboarding, and Champions program activities
Contribute to executive-level cloud spend reporting and narratives

Required Skills & Experience
2+ years of experience in FinOps, cloud financial management, cost optimization, or related field
Hands-on experience working with engineering or product teams on cloud cost topics
Experience with AWS and at least one additional cloud provider (Azure, GCP, or OCI)
Strong understanding of cloud billing concepts (Savings Plans, Reserved Instances, Spot/Preemptible, CUDs)
Experience producing cost analysis, variance reporting, and financial summaries for non-technical audiences
Ability to query and analyze data using SQL (basic to intermediate)
Experience using cloud cost tools (AWS Cost Explorer, Azure Cost Management, or GCP Billing)
Strong communication skills with ability to lead cost conversations and drive accountability
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
FinOps Certified Practitioner or willingness to obtain within 90 days
FinOps Certified FOCUS Analyst or willingness to obtain within 6 months
Experience working in a multi-cloud environment
Familiarity with FOCUS (FinOps Open Cost and Usage Specification)
Experience with Astro, CostHawk, or similar FinOps tooling
Experience with Savings Plan or Reserved Instance purchase analysis
Background in IT Financial Management (ITFM) or IT Asset Management (ITAM)
Experience with BI tools such as Tableau or QuickSight
