Weekend hours (see below)
32 hours/week (Thursday, Friday, Saturday and Sunday between 8AM-8PM local time) to start
24 hours/week (Friday, Saturday and Sunday) once familiar with process
30 days’ notice will be provided for any migrations not happening over a weekend; otherwise, every weekend will be required
Day to Day
Execution, SOPs & Testing:
Follow and execute the defined Migration SOPs for pre-migration, migration, and post-migration activities.
Conduct pre-migration checks (e.g., ensuring VM tools, OS compatibility, and resource availability) and fix any identified issues.
Execute VM migrations using Red Hat tools (OSV,MTV,Ansible)
Document and facilitate pre- and post-migration testing with application owners to confirm workload functionality.
Troubleshoot basic migration failures and escalate complex issues (VM, network, storage) to the relevant SME.

Technical Requirements
OpenShift Virtualization (OSV): Hands-on experience managing and deploying VMs within a Red Hat OpenShift Container Platform.
Migration Tooling: Proficiency with Red Hat MTV (Migration Toolkit for Virtualization) or similar conversion tools (e.g., virt-v2v).
Virtualization Fundamentals: Strong understanding of VMware vSphere (vCenter, ESXi) and Linux KVM-based virtualization.
OS Administration: Solid knowledge of Linux (RHEL/CentOS) and Windows Server administration to troubleshoot guest OS drivers and tools.
Basic Networking/Storage: Understanding of Kubernetes networking (OVN-Kubernetes) and storage classes as they relate to persistent volumes for VMs.
Automation: Proficiency with Ansible and ability to run and modify playbooks to automate precheck, migration, and post check tasks.
