Job Description
Insight Global is seeking an NX Designer in the Warren, Michigan area. This role will support iterative development cycles, including prototype evaluation, pilot testing, and feedback integration. The NX Designer will collaborate closely with engineering and manufacturing teams to ensure tools are production ready.
The NX Designer will contribute to the development of advanced design and manufacturing automation tools, working natively with sketches and expressions to drive fully parametric parts and assemblies within R&D environments. This role also serves as the primary user advocate, ensuring tools align with real world design, product, and manufacturing workflows.
Key Responsibilities:
• Develop NX templates, parametric models, and reusable design assets
• Create fixture and product designs to support automation tool testing
• Test prototypes and pilot tools in collaboration with Manufacturing and Advanced Vehicle Development teams
• Provide structured feedback, requirements, and workflow expectations to software developers
• Validate integration with current R&D initiatives
• Create light user documentation for templates and tools
• Collaborate with existing users and template owners
Compensation:
$40/hr to $45/hr
Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience
- 10+ years of experience with advanced NX knowledge and designing in manufacturing automation environments
- Sketching and constraints experience
- Experience interfacing with peers and users to verify needs & work
- Expressions and parameter management experience
- Proficient with template and re-use library
- Assembly level parametric experience (WAVE & Datums)
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
- Product Template Studio/Block UI Styler
- Coding and journaling fundamentals
- NX Assembly Sequencing
- Understanding of the GM vehicle assembly structure (VAS)
- Experience with GPDL tools
