About This Role

Our client's purpose is to make the world a safer place through amazing fire & life safety products. Within our North America Detection & Alarms business, the Director of Product Management will play a pivotal role in leading product strategy, innovation, and lifecycle management.

This senior leadership position is responsible for defining the product vision, managing a high-performing team, and delivering insight-driven innovation that enhances home protection and drives growth. The Director will collaborate across functions to ensure that product strategies align with consumer insights, market dynamics, and business objectives.

Key Responsibilities

Product Strategy & Vision

Develop and execute a comprehensive product strategy for the North America Detection & Alarms business.
Define and articulate a clear product vision aligned with business priorities.
Conduct market research to identify consumer and professional needs, competitive dynamics, and industry trends.
Partner with Consumer Insights to translate insights into innovation opportunities and product solutions.
Team Leadership

Lead a high preforming team fostering collaboration, innovation, and accountability.
Build and develop talent through coaching, feedback, and professional development opportunities.
Encourage a culture of consumer-first thinking, innovation, and cross-functional alignment.
Innovation & Roadmap Development

Define and manage product portfolios, roadmaps, feature sets, product marketing, and lifecycle plans.
Set innovation strategy, timing, and prioritization in alignment with business goals.
Oversee new product launches from ideation through post-launch analysis.
Partner with Engineering, Marketing, Sales, and Operations to ensure seamless execution.
Performance Management & Analysis

Establish and track KPIs to measure product performance and innovation success.
Monitor product profitability, market share, and consumer adoption metrics.
Provide data-driven insights to guide portfolio decisions and resource allocation.

Required Skills & Experience

Basic Qualifications



Bachelor’s Degree
10+ years of proven product management experience with a track record of successful product launches and lifecycle management.
12+ years’ demonstrated ability to lead and inspire teams, manage talent, and collaborate across functions.

MBA strongly preferred
Leadership: Strong leadership and team management capabilities, with the ability to motivate and inspire cross-functional teams.
Strategic Thinking: Ability to think long-term and align product strategy with business objectives.
Analytical Skills: Proficient in leveraging data and insights to drive decision-making and product strategy.
Communication: Effective communication skills to influence stakeholders and present complex ideas clearly.
Adaptability: Comfortable with ambiguity and skilled at navigating evolving market and organizational priorities.
