Data Analytics Analyst

Insight Global is looking for a Data Analytics Analyst to support the Internal Audit organization at one of our large financial clients. This individual will perform in a few functions, including:

Support Internal Audit teams by developing and executing data analytics used in audit planning, control testing, and issue validation
Partner directly with Internal Auditors to understand audit objectives and translate those needs into actionable data analyses
Write and optimize SQL, SAS, and Python-based analytics to evaluate large, complex financial datasets
Assist in building repeatable, scalable analytics that can be reused across audits
Help auditors answer questions such as “How do we test this control using data?” by determining the right datasets, logic, and analytical approach

Strong experience working within a Data Analytics role
Background working with Audit data sets, or in lieu of direct audit experience, then financial background working with data sets of similar nature such as: AML, Compliance, Regulatory reporting, Risk or controls-related datasets
Ability to directly support Internal Audit stakeholders
Strong data analytics experience using SAS, SQL, and Python (analytics-focused; not engineering)
Experience designing or contributing to data analytics solutions (dashboards, repeatable analyses, control testing support, etc.)
Comfortable translating business questions/requirements/challenges into analytical approaches and solutions
(e.g., understanding what auditors are asking and determining how data can answer it)

Automation mindset (streamlining repeatable analytics)
Ability to think creatively about data sources and testing approaches
