Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Sr. Backend Engineer to join our large insurance client. In this role, the engineer will work as part of an Agile team supporting backend services for the client's policy and claims system, contributing across both legacy and modern platforms. Approximately 75% of the role will focus on new feature development, with an increasing emphasis on Azure‑based solutions, while 25% will involve production support for existing .NET and Oracle‑based applications. The engineer will participate in daily stand‑ups, work within two‑week sprint cycles, and deliver into monthly production releases. Day to day, this individual will design, develop, and enhance backend functionality using C# and .NET, collaborate with team members to implement scalable solutions, troubleshoot production issues, and help evolve the platform toward more cloud‑native architectures. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, has great communication skills, and can work independently.

Required Skills & Experience
• 7+ years of professional experience as a backend software engineer
• Strong hands‑on experience with C# and .NET (8+) in enterprise environments
• Solid database experience with Oracle, or strong experience with SQL Server plus willingness to transition and deepen Oracle skills
• Experience building and supporting applications in Microsoft Azure
• Background working within Agile methodologies and scrum teams
• Ability to support both new feature development and production issues
Strong problem‑solving skills, ability to work independently in a distributed team, and great communication skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience in the insurance domain, particularly policy or claims systems
• Prior work supporting or modernizing legacy .NET applications while contributing to cloud‑based development
Exposure to Azure‑based modernization or cloud migration initiatives
