Job Description
We are seeking a Business Enterprise Architect to enhance and mature an existing enterprise architecture capability. This role will focus on configuring and optimizing an enterprise architecture platform (e.g., Ardoq or similar EA tools) to support executive-level insights, reporting, and decision-making, while also applying strong business and enterprise architecture principles.
The ideal candidate combines hands-on experience configuring EA tools with a strategic understanding of business capabilities, value streams, operating models, and enterprise transformation.
✅ Key Responsibilities
• Configure and optimize an enterprise architecture platform (e.g., Ardoq, LeanIX, HOPEX, Bizzdesign, ADOIT, ServiceNow EA) to:
○ Structure architecture data effectively
○ Enable executive dashboards, reports, and visualizations
○ Improve traceability between business capabilities, applications, and initiatives
• Translate business strategy and objectives into enterprise architecture views and insights
• Partner with business leaders, IT leadership, and executives to:
○ Identify meaningful architecture metrics
○ Design reporting outputs that support decision-making
• Define and refine business architecture artifacts, including:
○ Business capability models
○ Value streams
○ Operating models
• Ensure EA data quality, governance, and usability
• Drive adoption of EA tooling across stakeholders by improving clarity and relevance of outputs
• Support transformation initiatives, portfolio planning, and roadmapping efforts
• Serve as a bridge between technical architecture data and business-focused storytelling
This position is required to sit onsite in downtown Houston 4 days / week and it offers an hourly pay rate range of $65-$80/hr based on knowledge and years of experience.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience in Enterprise Architecture, Business Architecture, or related roles
• Strong understanding of:
○ Business capability modeling
○ Value streams and operating models
○ Enterprise transformation and roadmapping
• Experience aligning architecture artifacts to business strategy and executive outcomes
EA Tool Configuration & Reporting
• Hands-on experience configuring enterprise architecture tools, such as:
○ Ardoq
○ LeanIX
○ HOPEX
○ Bizzdesign
○ ADOIT
○ ServiceNow Enterprise Architecture
• Experience configuring:
○ Data models / metamodels
○ Views, dashboards, and reports
○ Relationships between business, application, and technology layers
• Ability to turn EA data into clear executive-level reports and insights
Stakeholder & Executive Communication
• Proven ability to communicate architecture concepts to non-technical executives
• Experience gathering requirements from business leaders and translating them into architecture outputs
• Strong storytelling and visualization skills
Nice to Have Skills & Experience
• Experience with Ardoq specifically (strong plus, but not required)
• TOGAF, BIZBOK, or similar EA certifications
• Experience supporting:
○ Portfolio management
○ Strategic planning
○ M&A architecture analysis
• Background in industries with complex enterprise environments (energy, utilities, healthcare, financial services, etc.)
