Job Description

An employer is looking for a DRSN Technician to sit at the pentagon. This person will be delivering 24/7 mission-critical voice and data communications for senior DoD leadership. This role is responsible for engineering, maintaining, and troubleshooting secure telecommunications systems, performing COMSEC duties, monitoring circuit health, and supporting outage restoration efforts. The technician works closely with multiple work centers to ensure continuous availability of highly sensitive networks and operates in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment where reliability and precision are essential. This is a full-time overnight position supporting national defense operations.

Compensation:
$45/hr to $50/hr.

Exact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.

Required Skills & Experience

Active DoD TS/SCI security clearance
Active Security+ CE or equivalent DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification
Bachelor’s degree and 2+ years of relevant experience
(or additional experience/training in lieu of a degree)
Hands-on experience installing, testing, and troubleshooting IT communications equipment
Experience supporting voice/data circuits, including fault isolation and service restoration
Strong communication skills and ability to operate in a high-tempo, mission-critical environment

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

Direct, hands-on experience with the Defense Red Switch Network (DRSN) in a command center environment
Background in Cryptographic Systems, Tech Control, C4I Systems, or Nuclear Command and Control (NC2)
Experience with COMSEC operations, including crypto device configuration and maintenance
Experience in network planning and engineering, including circuit installs, modifications, and deactivations
Familiarity with communications testing tools (Tone Generators, VoIP testers, BERTs, scopes, multimeters)
Experience developing and executing contingency, restoration, and continuity of operations plans
