Job Description
Insight Global is looking for a Finance Manager to support a large academic medical center in NYC, working closely with the Surgery and Transplant departments. This role is responsible for overseeing day‑to‑day financial performance, including budgeting, forecasting, variance analysis, and reporting, while ensuring a clear understanding of where funds come from and how they’re spent across clinical, research, and education operations. The Finance Manager partners closely with both central finance leadership and departmental leaders to explain financial results, support strategic planning, evaluate new initiatives, and ensure all funding sources—such as clinical revenue, grants, and philanthropy—are used appropriately and in compliance. This role may also manage junior finance staff and serves as a key financial advisor to department leadership, helping keep accounts balanced and supporting long‑term planning.

Required Skills & Experience
• 5+ years of experience responsible for managing budgets, business development, and financial operations of complex matrix organizations at academic medical centers
• Strong understanding of core financial concepts, including budgeting, P&L management, variance analysis, fund management, and financial problem‑solving
• Proven ability to act as a proactive thought partner to departmental leadership—identifying risks, surfacing blind spots, and recommending solutions rather than solely producing reports
• 1+ year of managerial experience
• Proficient in Excel
• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field

• Experience with Peoplesoft
