Job Description

The Data Onboarding Specialist plays a key role in supporting the successful onboarding of new customers and properties onto the Fortress platform. This role is responsible for the preparation, transformation, and migration of property data from existing management systems into Fortress, ensuring it is accurate, complete, and ready for system setup.



Working closely with the Property Onboarding Manager, the Data Onboarding Specialist will execute data-related onboarding tasks with a high level of precision while also identifying opportunities to improve data processes and efficiency over time. This role includes direct communication with customers as needed to clarify data requirements, resolve discrepancies, and support a smooth onboarding experience.



This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with complex datasets, has strong Excel skills, and takes pride in delivering clean, reliable data in a fast-paced environment.



Prepare, clean, and transform property data from external systems for onboarding into the Fortress platform

Execute data migrations with a high degree of accuracy, ensuring data is complete and properly structured

Build and utilize advanced Excel formulas and models to manipulate, reconcile, and validate large datasets

Identify, investigate, and resolve data discrepancies, inconsistencies, and gaps prior to migration

Perform thorough data validation and quality assurance checks to ensure successful onboarding outcomes

Assist with configuration and setting up of customer accounts and properties within the Fortress system

Communicate directly with customers as needed to gather, clarify, and validate data requirements and resolve data-related issues

Collaborate closely with the Property Onboarding Manager to support onboarding timelines and deliverables

Maintain clear and organized documentation of data mapping, transformation logic, and onboarding processes

Support onboarding efforts for both new customers and existing customers, adding new properties

Identify patterns in data onboarding workflows and recommend improvements to increase efficiency, accuracy, and scalability

Contribute to the development of standardized templates, tools, and best practices for data onboarding

Communicate data-related risks, issues, and progress to internal stakeholders in a timely manner

Required Skills & Experience

2–4 years of experience in data-related, operations, finance, or analytical roles

Strong proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:

Advanced formulas (XLOOKUP, INDEX/MATCH, nested IFs, etc.)

Data cleaning, manipulation, and validation

Working with large datasets

Experience working with structured data, data migration, or system implementations preferred

High attention to detail with a strong focus on data accuracy and quality

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment

Effective communication skills, including the ability to work directly with customers to clarify data requirements
