Job Description
We are seeking a Warehouse Control Systems (WCS) Implementation Lead to drive the successful deployment of highly automated warehouse technologies across our Distribution Center (DC) network. In this role, you will lead the implementation, testing, and commissioning of the WCS and its integrations with the Warehouse Management System (WMS) and automated material handling equipment such as OSRs, A‑Frames, conveyors, sorters, and vendor platforms like KNAPP and Locus Robotics.
This position is ideal for a hands‑on, detail‑oriented leader who thrives in fast‑paced, high‑stakes environments and is passionate about bringing large‑scale automation systems to life.
Lead Warehouse Automation Implementations
Own the end‑to‑end WCS implementation lifecycle for new DC start‑ups—from requirements review through go‑live readiness.
Coordinate physical and software implementation activities with internal engineering teams, site operations, DSS partners, and automation vendors.
Drive System & Integration Testing
Lead comprehensive testing of WMS‑WCS‑automation system integrations, ensuring accuracy, throughput, and operational readiness.
Conduct structured testing of OSR, A‑Frame, VIC, PLC‑controlled systems, conveyors, and SCADA‑monitored components.
Validate exception handling, recovery workflows, and high‑availability (HA) behavior for automated equipment and WCS servers.
Manage Issues & Ensure Smooth Go‑Lives
Log, track, and validate defects throughout the implementation cycle.
Provide hands‑on troubleshooting support during on‑site commissioning and cutover events.
Partner with vendors and internal teams to resolve integration and performance issues quickly.
Document & Communicate
Produce clear and thorough test plans, execution results, runbooks, configuration notes, and readiness reports.
Communicate risks, timelines, gaps, and dependencies to project leadership and operational stakeholders.
Lead Cross‑Functional Alignment
Work closely with WCS engineering and automation vendors to define ownership and build repeatable commissioning playbooks.
Contribute to organizational improvements related to WCS deployment, commissioning, and support models.
