Job Description

Insight Global is looking for an Electrical & Low Voltage BIM Designer to support an international engineering client. This person will sit in the Charlotte, NC or Raleigh, NC office. This individual will join the building engineering design group & will be supporting data center project work. This person will support building and site projects through all phases of design and construction documentation. This role focuses on producing high-quality electrical and low voltage models and drawings while coordinating closely with design teams and other trades to ensure accurate, constructible, and well-coordinated project deliverables.

Key Responsibilities
• Develop detailed 3D Revit models and 2D construction documents for electrical power, lighting, and low voltage systems.
• Support projects through all phases of design development and construction documentation.
• Coordinate electrical and low voltage systems with mechanical, structural, and architectural disciplines to identify and resolve clashes.
• Incorporate design team redlines and markups using Bluebeam and other coordination tools.
• Assist with electrical layouts, circuiting, and panel schedules as required.
• Support prefabrication efforts by identifying constructible assemblies and modeling to applicable standards.
• Maintain project documentation in accordance with company BIM standards and industry best practices.

This is a six contract-to-hire position with a hybrid office schedule. This person will be expected to work in office 3-4 days in office per week with flexibility for more WFH days as time goes on.

Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of experience in electrical design, construction modeling, or BIM.
- Proficiency in Autodesk Revit (Electrical) and AutoCAD.
- Strong understanding of electrical and low voltage systems, including lighting, power, and telecom.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and codes (NEC knowledge required).
- Experience working on complex building types like hospitals, data centers or other critical facilities

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

• Experience developing or modifying Revit families.
• Familiarity with construction coordination and clash detection workflows.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities in a collaborative team environment.
