Job Description

Studio is an AI-powered creative platform that enables creators to generate, edit, and manage digital avatars and media at scale. Our platform supports a large, global creator community across Free, Pro, and Max subscription tiers, with real-time job processing and advanced AI workflows. Studio is fully self-hosted on DigitalOcean, running on 14+ production servers.

We’re looking for a product-driven Full-Stack Engineer with exceptional frontend skill and strong design instincts. This role is for someone who enjoys owning features end-to-end, but whose superpower is crafting beautiful, intuitive, and branded user experiences.

Our product surface is large and evolving — including the creator studio, public profiles, community features, admin tools, and a 530+ component design system. You’ll play a major role in shaping how Studio looks, feels, and functions across every user touchpoint. You’re a full-stack engineer who thinks deeply about UI, UX, and brand — and takes pride in shipping complete, polished product experiences.

Responsibilities:

- Own product features end-to-end, from database design and APIs to polished, production-ready UI
- Lead and evolve our V2 design system (530+ components) built with Radix UI and Tailwind CSS, ensuring consistency, scalability, and strong brand expression
- Define and refine Studio’s visual language, including typography, color systems, layout, spacing, micro-interactions, motion, and responsiveness
- Build full-stack features across the creator lifecycle, including onboarding, avatar generation workflows, galleries and media management, public profiles, community features, and subscription experiences
- Collaborate closely with product leadership to shape feature direction, user flows, and product strategy — not just implementation
- Design and maintain backend services and APIs using NestJS, Prisma, and PostgreSQL
- Support real-time and async workflows, including background jobs and event-driven processes
- Maintain strong quality standards through visual regression testing (Chromatic), E2E testing (Playwright), and Storybook documentation
Continuously improve performance, usability, and reliability across the platform

We are a company committed to creating diverse and inclusive environments where people can bring their full, authentic selves to work every day. Required Skills & Experience

- 5+ years of experience building production web applications
- At least 2 years of hands-on backend/API development in addition to frontend work
- Advanced proficiency with React and modern CSS — you’re comfortable building complex, responsive layouts and animations without heavy UI libraries
- Strong product and design sensibility, with an eye for detail and polish; you can iterate on UI without pixel-perfect specs and make it feel “right”
- Experience building or scaling component libraries or design systems
- Solid backend fundamentals: REST APIs, relational data modeling, authentication, and async job processing
- Experience with Next.js (App Router, SSR, Server Components) and Node.js frameworks such as NestJS
- Familiarity with testing and documentation tools like Storybook, visual regression testing, and Playwright
- A genuine interest in branding and visual identity — you’ve influenced or owned brand-related decisions in past roles

Nice to Have Skills & Experience

- Experience with Radix UI, CVA, Zustand, React Query, Prisma, or Temporal
- Experience working on creator tools, media-heavy platforms, or subscription products
- Familiarity with real-time systems or high-volume async processing

Benefit packages for this role will start on the 1st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching. Employees in this role are also entitled to paid sick leave and/or other paid time off as provided by applicable law.
