Job Description

Insight Global is seeking a Backend ESRI Developer for a local client. The GIS Platform Team is responsible for building, scaling, and maintaining a robust technological infrastructure that enables client stakeholders to reliably access, analyze, and operationalize spatial data. The GIS Solutions Analyst (Back-End Support) plays a key role in managing enterprise geospatial databases and backend systems, delivering high performance geoprocessing services, and optimizing the storage and infrastructure that underpin self service spatial analysis across the client’s AI enterprise. This role focuses on developing, tuning, and maintaining enterprise spatial databases—specifically Postgres/PostGIS—including schema design, indexing strategies, and performance optimization for high volume geospatial data. The analyst designs, builds, and deploys custom Python based geoprocessing tools and services that support complex routing workflows, scalable web applications, and high delivery velocity. Responsibilities also include extending Esri Enterprise GIS environments through custom data feeds, server administration, and high availability configurations; monitoring and optimizing system performance; troubleshooting storage and network bottlenecks; and proactively scaling infrastructure to support global operations. The role further involves implementing CI/CD pipelines and source control practices for geospatial tools and services, collaborating closely with front end analysts, operations stakeholders, spatial data and analytics teams, and map engineering partners, and establishing and promoting best practices for geospatial data engineering, backend system design, and enterprise deployment.
