Location: Rochester, NY (Hybrid → Remote)
Duration: 4–6 Month Contract (initial 2 months onsite, then remote)
Openings: 1–2
Hours: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Mileage: $0.70/mile (during onsite phase)

About the Role
An Energy Services Company specializing in commercial construction and environmental services is seeking HVAC Controls Engineers or Controls Technicians to support HVAC automation and controls initiatives during a peak project backlog period.

This role begins with a 2‑month project in the Gates suburb of Rochester, NY, requiring a 50% onsite / 50% remote split, and then transitions to 100% remote work once the suburban project is complete.

Required Skills & Experience

Key Responsibilities
Support HVAC automation and DDC controls projects for commercial facilities
Perform design work (50%) during the initial onsite project phase
Orchestrate and align multiple software platforms, including controls and scheduling tools
Enter events, schedules, and system data into scheduling software
Set up and configure controls and scheduling software environments
Coordinate directly with customers to ensure software, schedules, and systems align
Support commissioning, troubleshooting, and system optimization
After the initial 2 months, continue project support 100% remotely
Ideal Candidate Profile
HVAC Controls Engineer or Controls Technician background
Strong experience with DDC Controls and commissioning
Hands-on experience with Niagara and/or Distech platforms
Niagara N4 Certification required
Comfortable managing and aligning multiple software systems
Able to work independently in a fast‑paced, high‑volume environment
Strong communication skills for customer interaction and coordination
