This role supports gas turbine engineering within the rotor design and analysis group. The engineer will execute detailed 2D and 3D finite element analyses (FEA) on gas turbine rotor components, evaluate structural integrity, and document analytical results. The position is highly collaborative and works closely with cross functional engineering teams to support defect evaluations, design assessments, and ongoing project work. The ideal candidate has strong experience in rotor design, fracture mechanics, and fatigue analysis, with hands-on use of ANSYS and Siemens NX in a production engineering environment.
Key Responsibilities
• Execute 2D and 3D gas turbine rotor finite element analyses using ANSYS
• Perform post processing activities including:
o Low Cycle Fatigue crack initiation and propagation
o Fracture mechanics evaluations
o Bolted joint behavior summaries
o Strength and structural integrity assessments
• Pull and modify CAD models from PLM systems
• Develop and edit CAD models using Siemens NX
• Summarize, document, and present analytical results clearly
• Support defect evaluation through analytical methods
• Assist with automation of repetitive analysis tasks using Python, as needed
• Present updates during routine project and status meetings
